The HTTA: Hackers Tour Through Asia, started on the 12th of March just before the Singapore Foss Asia 2019 Summit and concluded in Shenzhen on the 1st of June 2019 after nearly three months of traveling by bus, train and plane across the huge continent. A big shout-out to SteamHead for the fascinating three week Residency at their Maker Space. What a way to wind up the tour. While in Shenzhen we managed to fit in tours of Shenzhen based Maker Schools, Maker Spaces, a 3D Printing R & D Lab, factories, the Shenzhen Laser Faire and Smart Home Trade Shows and of course many pleasant hours were spent in the HQB electronics market area.

During the three week SteamHead residency, Paul spent many happy working hours on some projects in the SteamHead main work room.
While most of the time was spent designing up and 3D printing a windup butterfly release mechanism, along with a corresponding hand held winding tool, there was ample time to have a play with some of the Waveshare e-Paper products and colourful LED strips.

From the November 17, 2018 Nanshan School Maker Faire in Shenzhen, China. This event brought together 9 international schools, 11 public schools, and 15 organizations. This was the first year the Faire moved out of SAIS and into the Design Society Seaworld Arts and Culture Center. That allowed the event to almost double in size to include 130 interactive booths and exhibits and involve more than 500 students from the community.
This event was organized by Shenzhen American International School and Design Society with Carrie Leung as the Director of the Event, Lucy Zeng as Event Producer, James Simpson as Community Coordinator, and Sherryl Pan as Event Producer.
